Wedding Reception

Plan Early To Minimize Any Chaotic Situations

Other than arranging big and small parties and events for my clients, I am also pretty good at arranging wedding banquets for the new weds. I am proud to say that I have never disappointed any of the happy couples.

The essence of a memorable and cozy wedding is not the venue's decor but to satisfy the guests' appetite. Instead of a traditional wedding banquet, having a wedding reception has become quite popular in recent years due to the pandemic. Arrangement details for a wedding reception can be far more simple compared to a traditional banquet, don’t underestimate such details even though it is as simple as seat arrangement, it can become a fun topic to chat about for years if not done properly. In terms of food choices, it is up to the couple’s preferences and can be tailor-made uniquely, no wonder why there is a large number of young couples fond of this type of wedding party format.

Some cool tips you should know

01.

A personalized wedding that reflects the couple’s thoughts

Wedding receptions can be held at any time, any place, such as the beach, church, clubhouse, or even at sea. The type and portion of food can be arranged depending on the venue and the number of people, specialty drinks and desserts can also be prepared to pair with the food choices. If held during the afternoon, it is usually featured with Canapé, such as Crab Meat Vol-au-vent, Mini Chocolate Tart & Mini Lemon Tart, Truffle Wild Mushroom Vol-au-vent, Dried Abalone & Truffle Wild Mushroom Vol-au-vent, a single bite with a mouthful of flavor and remain with an elegant smile while enjoying the food. If you choose to hold the wedding around lunch or dinner time, it is recommended to do it in the form of a buffet, from cold and hot appetizers, main dishes, desserts to drinks, all can be arranged accordingly to fit what the couple is looking for. In addition to waiter service, all serving types of equipment such as tables with tablecloths, food tents, napkins, food trays, and tableware will also be provided, the one-stop model surely can help to save plenty of time in the planning process.

02.

Plan ahead of time to prepare for any last-minute changes

My experience tells me planning ahead is the key element for a perfect wedding, especially when separate vendors are being involved, for example, it is very important to coordinate thoroughly if the venue and catering service providers are not the same. Discussing the details in advance with the caterer is highly recommended, due to the complexity of catering food choices and given that food preferences for guests could be changed at any time, so it is best to start contacting the caterer in advance to determine the main theme and direction, for non peak seasons, give it 6 months would be reasonable, however, if the wedding falls in the month of October, November, or December, it's best to give a minimum of 1 year to start the planning process, this will give you room to modify any possible changes. By the way, a responsible caterer usually offers a wedding tasting for customers prior to confirming the order, so don't forget to ask for it if not offered.

It’s best to decide the form of the wedding reception as early as possible to avoid ruining the event’s rundown as the number and proportion of food items play an important role in calculating the delivery and setting time. Experienced wedding caterers can provide you with professional advice to the best of their knowledge, for example, for a buffet-style reception, does the company provide on-site waiter service if needed? Such details cannot be ignored when choosing the right caterer for your big day.

03.

Place a small order first

Not sure which catering provider to pick? Searching for reviews on the web is one of the options, in order to really find out if it is a good fit, I usually will place a small order from the caterers I am interested in, this will allow me to experience the actual service and the taste and quality of the food myself.
I wish all the newlyweds a wonderful wedding.
